Decorating the guest room gives you the opportunity to test certain colour schemes without worrying it will look horrid and have to be changed as soon as you have finished. Guests whoever they are, are usually happy to be provided a bed so the decorating of the spare bedroom can be a testing experience.  Most of the time though the colours, furniture provide a warming feel and can be extremely stylish.

Being able to walk into a furniture store or shop online and pick out a range of furniture and colours for paint and wallpaper is still a great experience. Depending on who the main people who will be staying in such as friends, children or maybe as a room to rent may depend on the colour scheme you will be using to decorate the spare bedroom.

The spare bedroom should be free or mess and remain clutter free as this provides a fresh, clean environment guests will love and feel invited into the relax and sleep. The bedding should be medium to high quality, comfortable mattress and bed as well as soft pillows for the bed. The carpet is not as important but should be a colour that does not easily show the dirt.

Pale colours such as cream, terracotta or even white are usual colours for the spare bedroom. Adding spare bedroom furniture such as a bedroom chair to the room can provide additional comfort and the welcoming feeling. Curtains are also very important, to thin and they can let to much light through so easily to be woken by sunlight on a summers morning or to thick and they can block out to much light.
